We asked our 2021 graduates on the West campus to share one word describing their Palmer College experience and something they’re looking forward to after graduation. Congratulations to our Palmer graduates Class of 158!

Gratitude.
My first quarter, everyone told me this program is like “drinking water out a fire hose.” They weren’t wrong. Every time, I thought I was ready to give up, there was a community of family and friends who had faith in me, gave me the strength to keep going…even when I did not. Thank you to them all.
I walk away with a confidence in my clinical skills that I hope to put to good use as I return home to my community in Surrey, BC, Canada. I’m excited to empower my patients, both physically and mentally, and give them the tools to lead a healthy life.

Thankful.
The past three years at Palmer was never easy. There were so many times and reasons that I could have given up. Without the support, guidance, help, understanding, and love from my family, girlfriend, friends, classmates, teachers, mentor clinician, preceptorship doctors, and patients, there would be one less doctor in the world! I am beyond thankful for having these awesome people in my chiropractic journey! Thank you very much! Mahalo nui loa!

Rewarding.
Throughout my time at Palmer I was able to connect with many wonderful people and establish great relationships. The constant support of friends, family, classmates, and clinicians through the ups and downs really helped create a welcoming community throughout my time. Palmer has taught me so much about myself over the past few years especially during my experience in clinic. The program really prepared me well and I cannot wait to continue this new chapter where I can continue to grow as a doctor. I look forward to integrating the knowledge I learned throughout the curriculum into caring for those within the public.

Discipline.
During my time at Palmer, I’ve had to handle many different types of adversity that were thrown my way. Each instance had the potential to distract me from reaching my goal. Going through Palmer, working in the clinic, and learning from the great doctors at Palmer West, I learned that in order to be a great doctor, one must be disciplined so you can master your craft. Paying attention to the little details and asking the right questions will put you in the best position. Being disciplined has helped me become a better doctor and has helped me get opportunities that I never thought I would achieve. I am proud to be a first-generation Hispanic student and to now become a Doctor of Chiropractic. I hope my story will help inspire others so they know that whatever you want to be in life, you can achieve if you remain disciplined.
