Palmer College History

Palmer is the history and the future of chiropractic.

The chiropractic profession was founded by D.D. Palmer in 1895. He went on to form what would become Palmer College of Chiropractic. At every step in our daring history, we’ve driven the profession forward and grown the College to become recognized as The Trusted Leader in Chiropractic Education®.

The founding of Palmer College of Chiropractic also served as the launchpad for the development of other chiropractic schools. Eight of the 18 chiropractic schools in the United States were founded by Palmer graduates. Even as choices in chiropractic education have proliferated, aspiring chiropractors continue to choose Palmer College, The Trusted Leader in Chiropractic Education®. Today, 20.1 percent of all current chiropractic students attend Palmer College, and more than one-third of all practicing chiropractors are Palmer graduates.
