Student learning innovation
Palmer College of Chiropractic is known for educating the best chiropractors in the world. That starts in the classroom, and extends to the clinical experience, collaborative student-learning spaces, and specialty programs available to Palmer students.
Clinical Experience
Students at Palmer gain hands-on clinical experience through the Palmer Chiropractic Clinics – the largest network of chiropractic clinics in the world. The volume of patient visits exposes students to a diverse patient base that includes many ages, abilities and health conditions. Here, students hone their adjusting skills under the guidance of experienced faculty clinicians.
Students can also elect to earn part of their clinical hours through a preceptorship at one of more than 6,000 approved offices across the country. During the Intern Preceptorship Program, students build upon their academic and clinical experience, gain business experience, and learn how to manage a private practice.
In addition, qualified students can apply to take part in a Department of Defense/Veterans Affairs rotation at one of more than 50 locations across the country. Through a DoD/VA rotation, students work among a multidisciplinary team of health-care professionals to address complicated patient cases that often include multiple comorbidities.

Research Honors
The Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research is the largest and most highly-funded chiropractic research effort in the nation. As a Palmer student, students can apply to take part in Palmer’s Research Honors program. The Research Honors Program gives students the opportunity to experience research and enhance their educational experience while in the Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) program. It allows students to design and complete faculty-mentored research projects.
