For Bryanna Esquivel, D.C. (West, ‘17), returning to Palmer West is enriching.
“I’ve been given an opportunity to give back to the student population and help them achieve their own professional goals. “When we graduate new doctors into our profession, I gain colleagues. And if those colleagues are successful, then ultimately, I too will be successful. Palmer West students’ success is all our success.”
Dr. Esquivel became a chiropractor because she knew she wanted to have a career that gave her opportunities to help the active population. As a former college athlete, Dr. Esquivel endured many sports-related injuries and began to see a chiropractor. Her chiropractor exposed her to the benefits of rehabilitation and the benefits of chiropractic adjustments. Through her experience as a patient, she began to fall in love with all that chiropractors have to offer.
“It’s amazing to see how versatile chiropractic care can be, and how it can help individuals and families achieve their health goals,” she said.
After researching chiropractic schools, she decided to attend Palmer West.
“Being a former athlete, I was drawn to the large sports council at Palmer West,” she said. “It was a great feeling to know I was surrounded by like-minded individuals. If you surround yourself with successful individuals, your chances of success are going to be much greater than if you didn’t.”
Today, Dr. Esquivel works with a wide variety of patients, including veterans, athletes of all levels, pregnant mothers and children, and patients with autoimmune disorders.
Dr. Esquivel notes that during her time at Palmer West she was very hard on herself. She tells her students who experience the same struggles to, “Take a deep breath, and shake it off, even crack a smile or laugh at yourself. At the end of the day, you’re not always going know the correct answer, and that’s okay. It’s our job as doctors to continue to expand our knowledge base. If we knew every single answer there was to every single question, then what else do we have to learn?”
