Illustration and interior design major. Pilot. Artist and soon to be a chiropractor.
When it comes to describing the path that led Quarter 12 student, Sandy Arthur, to where she is today, it’s difficult to fit her into a single box. She likes it that way. It was a severe disc herniation however that brought her general aviation pursuit to a crashing halt.
“I was doing two flights a day and one day I felt a pop. The pain was so bad I had to be carried out of the plane.” It was that injury and the care from her chiropractor (and now mentor), that set her on a new course of becoming a chiropractor. And then in her first year of school at Palmer Florida, something else blossomed. What started out as a way to relieve stress and help study for anatomy class has turned into a booming business for Sandy.
“Visual representation is huge for my learning style, but then everyone started telling me how good my art was and that I should start selling my sketches. It sparked something!” A year and a half later, Sandy continues to grow. “I’ve learned so much about business through this process. I’ve made a lot of mistakes and I think those lessons learned will only help me in my chiropractic business after I graduate this December.”
Sandy is thankful she has followed her heart throughout the years. And if you’re wondering, Sandy still loves to fly and keeps her aviation thrills as a hobby.
