Welcome to the Palmer Inspiration List! February is a time to remember the people who have enriched the Black chiropractic community with knowledge, pride, and respect.
We asked Palmer College of Chiropractic students to share whom they look up to in the Black chiropractic community.

Palmer's SABCA is just one of the many student chapters of the American Black Chiropractic Association across the country. And since it's inception on campus, membership enrollment has been one of the highest out of all campus-offered clubs.

As we celebrate Black History Month, Morris says being a future Black chiropractor is an honor, "I remember when I first started school, I was surprised at the small percentage of students who were Black. I'm proud to be here and continue to pave the way for future young men and young women of color to be inspired to dream big.

As we continue to celebrate Black History Month and the amazing students and alumni who are woven into our campus family, Dr. Awobusuyi says, "I think we've come a long way in terms of representation of Black chiropractors in the profession, but I also think there's a lot of progress left to be done and I think that all comes through education and exposure. Exposing lower-income communities to chiropractic and younger Black boys and girls to aspire for this profession. That's where the spark starts."

"With Black History Month, it's vital we take time to honor the chiropractors who came before us who have helped pave the path in representation in the chiropractic field. We need to celebrate their successes not just this month, but always!" said SABCA president Remi Jeffries.
