Student Academic Support Services

At Palmer College of Chiropractic, we’re committed to your success. We provide all students the necessary academic support and opportunities for enhanced learning. We understand that as a busy student, you may require assistance outside the classroom to achieve your best level of performance. With that in mind, we developed an array of academic services to help meet your educational goals.

In the video below, hear from student Jake Koerner, a hard-of-hearing student in his sixth trimester at Palmer College. He uses accessibility services to make sure he’s successful in his classes and dreams of running his own clinic.

We’re Here to Help

Palmer Academic Support (PASS) Peer Tutors
We understand that the life of a student is fast-paced and often challenging, which is why we offer weekly peer tutoring in the form of lecture and lab study sessions. Our peer tutors help you prepare for exams by reviewing important course material, offering mock exams, and quiz questions.

Open Lab/PASS Lab Tutors
PASS Lab Tutors provide Palmer students supplemental group lab sessions. PASS Lab Tutors review not only the content area of the lab portion of the course, but also present learning strategies, and test preparation techniques.

Drop-in Tutors
PASS Drop-In Tutors help students in small groups or individually. PASS Drop-In Tutors not only assist with the understanding of class materials, but also assist students in strengthening academic memory retention, comprehending textbooks, organizing assignments, and improving general learning and study skills.

Academic and General Advising
During your tenure at the College, you may require assistance regarding your studies or other areas of concern. Palmer faculty and staff are sensitive to those needs and provide the following types of advising services for students and families:

  • International-Student Advising
International students can obtain information about their non-immigrant status; optional practical training and other immigration concerns:

Main Campus: Meghan Fromi-Campos
Palmer Florida: registrar.fl@palmer.edu
Palmer West: Michael Crump, Student Services

  • Disability Support Services
We provide reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act to students seeking information or assistance. If you require accommodations, please contact the Student Disability Services Coordinator on your campus. We encourage students to self-identify for accommodations as early in the program as possible, and documentation of your disability should be submitted to the appropriate Student Disability Services Coordinator.

Main Campus: Holly Fisher
Palmer Florida: Victor Hidalgo
Palmer West: Michael Crump

Faculty members are available to discuss their courses and other academic concerns with students on an individual basis.

Student Assistance Program

We encourage and support students’ need for balance in a demanding professional program. Palmer’s Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a mental health solution-focused support resource that offers off-campus/teletherapy provided by locally-contracted mental health professionals through the Student Academic Support Services. Current students may find more information about off-campus services and resources on the student portal
