Campus Security
The mission of the Safety and Security Department is to create and maintain a safe and secure environment where teaching, learning, research, and campus life can thrive and succeed. This includes promoting a shared partnership with students, faculty, and staff that encourages everyone to take ownership in creating a safe and secure environment.
Main Campus Safety & Security
Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Main Campus Safety & Security team consists of 13 private security officers who are on patrol 24/7. Our officers are trained to respond to disorder, support city fire and police services, and render initial aid to our students, patients and employees. After initial training, Campus Safety & Security officers undergo regular, mandatory training.
The Palmer team is led by our Senior Director of Safety & Security, who is a retired FBI special agent. He’s very well-respected in the local law-enforcement community and is well-connected to safety and security resources.
Palmer Safety & Security is augmented by Davenport Police patrols. We work with the Davenport Police Department to help prevent crime in our surrounding neighborhood. A computerized communications/dispatch post coordinates security activities. Our collaborative approach with the Davenport P.D. is a best practice for higher-education institutions.
